ABOUT APEX ASPHALT

Welcome to Apex Asphalt Repair & Sealcoating

Allow us to share with you what to expect when having your driveway sealcoated with Apex Asphalt!

Where we understand the importance of maintaining your home's exterior to ensure both its longevity and aesthetic appeal.

Your driveway serves as the gateway to your property, enduring daily wear and tear from vehicles, weather elements, and foot traffic.

From preserving its structural integrity to enhancing your home's curb appeal, scheduling sealcoating services with us is essential for safeguarding your investment and elevating the overall look of your home.

Our asphalt surface preparation involves thorough edging and cleaning to eliminate overgrown grass, weeds, and debris using power blowers and brooms. This crucial step clears away debris, sand, mud, and water, creating an ideal surface for enhanced asphalt adhesion, resulting in longer-lasting results.

Additionally, we apply specialized primers to address oil, gas, and other spills; however, please note that while we strive for comprehensive coverage, we cannot guarantee complete removal of oil stains as they may potentially bleed through.

Following this, we meticulously address pavement cracks, applying a high-quality crack and joint sealant formulated with a blend of select resins, rubber, polymers, plastics, and stabilizers.

Next, we apply sealer to the edges of your driveway using small edging brooms, to cut in around more sensitive areas. We mostly go around garage doors, brick walks, walls and concrete areas.

We then hand-brush (squeegee) the entirety of the driveway, providing a smooth, sleek and professional look.

It is important to note that sealcoat wonโ€™t fix uneven or un-level pavement. If there is a dent, bump or depression in your pavement the sealer will not level it out.

We finish it off, making a line of sealer at the end of the driveway or parking lot.

After completing the seal coating process on your pavement, we take the precaution of flagging off the area to prevent traffic from entering until the sealer has dried.

Please allow 24-48 hours before driving on the newly sealed pavement, but you can safely walk on it once it achieves a flat, dry finish.

PREPARATION

SEALCOATING

COMPLETED

Our signature process ensures you receive top-tier service and a pristine driveway upon completion.

Each driveway is unique and will have it's own individual needs!

Sealcoating itself is not intended to repair any aspect of the asphalt surface or base.  Sealcoating will not level off depressions, remove humps, or repair broken asphalt or concrete. If those repairs are needed (and we are able to perform them) they will be addressed before any work is performed and additional expense will be added to estimate.

We will perform repairs in these areas to the absolute best of capability with quality products, however due to environmental factors, usage of area after repair and unpredictable occurances out of our control, we cannot guarantee these repairs or predict how long they will stay in tact.

Customer is responsible for the removal of all cars from the work site prior to commencement of work. Worksites must be clear of overhanging bushes, ground cover, play chalk, mold and or moss, and other items such as basketball hoops etc.

Water sprinklers must be off 24 hours prior and 24 hours after sealcoating is completed.

Cracks are an unavoidable part of driveway usage, aging and existence, regardless of where or how they occur.

Once they occur they will always be visible. When we sealcoat over the cracks this will not hide them. Crack seal is still an important part of the process of sealcoating, as the primary goal is to keep the water out so it doesn't freeze and expand the crack.

We do not crack seal hairline cracks as there is no reservoir for the material to go into and we will fill as many cracks that are able to be filled however there is no way to 'get every crack.'

The quality of a finished driveway is dependent on the previous and continued care of driveway surface.

The product manufacturer suggests two coats for longest lifespan of protection and aesthetic.

We recommend annual sealcoating services to maintain quality of product and appearance of driveway.

We cannot guarantee timeline of quality due to previous care or how the surface is treated after we complete the project.

No guarantee is offered on driveways that are peeling from pre-existing sealcoat, mold and or moss or overhanging trees or other landscaping.

All agreements are contingent upon accidents or delays beyond our control.

We would be so appreciative if you left our sign in your yard for 7-10 days, as these signs help us lower our overall cost of business. Yard signs help in advertising our services and letting potential new customers see the quality of the work we have performed. By keeping our advertising costs down, we can bring you better pricing and help you save money!

WHY DOES APEX HAND-BRUSH SEALCOATING VS. SPRAYING?

Hand brushed sealcoating ensures various benefits pretaining to the lifespan of your driveway to include: precision application, better penetration, advanced adhesion, improved aesthetics and customization of coat thickness as needed per your driveways specific needs.

Spray sealcoating is applied quickly but may result in uneven coverage, while hand brushed sealcoating offers precise application for better protection and aesthetics.

Overall, hand brushed asphalt sealcoating provides superior coverage, penetration, adhesion, and aesthetics compared to spraying, making it a preferred choice for ensuring the longevity and visual appeal of your driveway.

HOW LONG SHOULD MY SEALCOATING LAST IF I FOLLOW APEX'S AFTERCARE TIPS?

With proper maintenance and adherence to best practices, a hand brushed sealcoating on your asphalt driveway can last anywhere from 1 to 3 years or even longer.

There are often environmental factors that can cause this span to vary so Apex recommends an annual maintenance seal coating for those that want to properly protect their driveway for the long term.

Regular maintenance, such as keeping the surface clean, addressing any minor issues promptly, and reapplying sealcoat as needed, will help maximize its lifespan and effectiveness.

The sealcoating product manufacturer recommends two coats for longer lasting quality and aesthetic.

back

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL I CAN DRIVE ON MY DRIVEWAY AFTER?

Drying times vary depending on factors like weather and sealant type, but it typically takes 24 hours to walk on the driveway, and 48 hours to drive on your driveway after curing completely.

back

WILL SEALCOATING FIX CRACKS AND POTHOLES IN MY DRIVEWAY?

Sealcoating is primarily a preventative measure and may not effectively repair existing cracks and potholes. These should be addressed separately.

Please visit our About section to learn more about expectations regarding crackfill.

When we come out to provide your estimate, we will evaluate any cracks or holes that may need to be filled before sealcoating is recommended and can provide that service as needed to ensure your sealcoating lasts and looks its absolute best upon completion!
